Description: "Bomb crater near Government Offices."--Back of photo. View across Mitchell Street towards Government House (flagpole visible). Bomb damage to Post and telegraph and cable company precinct buildings, particularly the square facade of the new Darwin Post Office (Beni Burnett) commenced before the first bombing of Darwin. The new building became the basis of the Legislative Assembly building.
