Description: Farewell function for Les Penhall. Les Penhall on phone. Les was a clerk in the Native Affairs Branch, and was involved in arranging for the evacuation of Aboriginal women and children to Mataranka, where they remained for the duration of the war. The men stayed on in Darwin. After the bombing, he helped to collect records from government departments for transportation to Alice Springs.
