Description: Smith Street showing devastation after Cyclone Tracy. ANZ bank on the left, Woolworths on the right. Galvanised iron strewn on the streets. Renault 84-827 registration heads towards Woolworths, Mini 105-244 registration parked on the right.
Notes: The Renault 84-827 driving away belonged to the Gould family. Kevin drove from St Mary’s Cathedral, where the family spent the night, because Betty Gould would not go home, up Smith Street toward the Commonwealth Railways office – Arkaba House - which was at the end of Smith Street / Esplanade across the road from the Darwin City Council Chambers, he was on his way back down to the cathedral.
