Biographical notes: Duff was born to Robert and Catherine L. Duff. His mother wrote the letter of consent allowing him to enlist. His sister, Mrs Martha Marlton of 75 Kissing Point Road, Townsville, applied for his ANZAC Medal in July 1967.

Service History: Duff spent one-and-a-half years with the 11th Infantry. He embarked from Brisbane, Queensland, on board HMAT A55 'Kyarra' on 16 April. He was temporary corporal and then acting sergeant in 1915. He embarked for Gallipoli on 22 July 1915 on the 'Kingstonian' and was admitted to hospital suffering from shell shock on 21 September 1915. Duff served in the Citizen Military Forces. He was killed 5 November 1917.
