|Biographical notes:||Ahearn was born in Mudgee, NSW in 1880 to parents Arthur and Elizabeth Ahearn. He married Alathea Jospehine Peisley in 1907 in Sydney. Prior to enlisting in 1918, worked on the North Australia Railway as a Shunter. After the war worked as a Railway Ganger at Mount Dharag N.S.W. 1930 and Belangry N.S.W. 1937. Died at Liverpool N.S.W. in 1944 (17803/1944).|

|Service History:||Ahearn was a member of the 1917 December Contingent from Darwin. His unit embarked from Sydney per HMAT A30 'Borda' 17 July 1918 and arrived in London 27 September 1918. Ahearn proceeded overseas to France 3 November 1918 and was in the field with the 3rd Light Railway Operating Company until 16 February 1919 when he was admitted to hospital. He returned to his unit on discharge. He was promoted temporarily to Corporal 21 March 1919. He was mustered out 1 May 1919 and embarked London per HT 'Karmala' 1 July 1919, disembarking in Sydney 17 August 1919 and finally discharged 2 September 1919.|
