|Biographical notes:||Frederick Taylor was born in 1883, the son of James Lloyd Taylor and Emela Leuresa (Emily Louisa) Pearce who married in 1873. The family had eight children: Charles John Taylor born in 1874; James Pearce Taylor born in 1876; Henry Lloyd Taylor born in 1878; Fanny Louisa Taylor born in 1882; Earnest Arthur Taylor born in 1886; Winifred Taylor born in 1887; and Dorothy Jane Taylor born in 1889. Frederick was registered on the electoral roll as a Constable at the Police Station in Prahran, Victoria in 1909; then as a farmer in the district of Rushworth near Echuca Victoria, 1919 – 1949.|

|Service History:||Taylor’s unit embarked from Melbourne on board HMAT A71 ‘Nestoron’ on 2 October 1916. He proceeded to France from England on 25 February 1917 joining the 6th Battalion. He was wounded in action on 9 May 1917 and again on 20 September 1917 and evacuated to England. Taylor returned to France on 27 December 1917 but was wounded in action on 15 April 1918 and again on 10 August 1918. He was invalided to England on 19 August 1918 and returned to Australia on board the ‘Nestor’ on 12 December 1918. He was medically discharged from the AIF on 19 March 1919 with a perforated lung and arm injury.|
