Biographical notes: Ann may have first come to the Territory with her family, James and Ann (nee Gellatley), as a young child in 1870. They seemed to have left the Territory again by 1888 because they were struck off the electoral roll. Isabella appeared in the Territory as a barmaid in 1893. In 1895 when Ann was 27, she was one of the 82 women who enrolled to vote after the franchise was granted to South Australian and Territory women in 1894. Her occupation was listed as “barmaid”.
