Description: Mr. Peer Mahomet came to Central Australia in the early days with his camels and then worked on the east-west railway line carrying sleepers. He originated from Peshawar, North Pakistan (adjacent to Afghanistan). He died in 1940 in Port Augusta, where he is buried.
