Description: A plaque in a portion of floor from the original St. Mary's Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Cathedral. 'This is a portion of the concrete floor in the original Darwin Cathedral erected by Jesuit Missionaries on this site in 1889. It witnessed the church's ceremonies for more than seventy years and the destructive power of war and cyclones, 24th April 1978.'
