Description: D. D. Smith. Smith was a government engineer in the NT from circa 1930. He is credited with the planning and development of the Territory's road network from the 1930's, including the initial development of the Stuart Highway. He was later a member of the Legislative Council and with his son Dave established Mount Allan station. He died in 1980.
