The Department of Lands, Planning and Environment’s Water Resources Division (WRD) undertook a shallow drilling program across the Western Davenport Central Plains region during the 2022 dry season period, followed by a deep drilling campaign in 2023-2024. Investigations were designed to support delivery of the National Water Grid (NWG) Western Davenport hydrostratigraphy project; a joint collaboration between the Northern Territory Government (NTG), Charles Darwin University (CDU) and Flinders University in South Australia,
