Anne held the licence to the Adelaide River Refreshment Rooms in the first half of the 1890s. In 1895 when Anne was 40, she was one of the 82 women who enrolled to vote after the franchise was granted to South Australian and Territory women in 1894. Her occupation was listed as 'married woman' and she enrolled at the Howley polling place. At the Licensing Bench meeting held on the 10 September 1895 an application was made to transfer the Railway Refreshment Rooms licence from "Annie Myles, Adelaide River, to Jane Cecile Knott", and this was granted on 11 September. Anne's husband, Michael Myles of Halbury, died aged 78, on 8 August 1938 at Balaklava Hospital, South Australia.,
