This plan is the Weed Management Plan for Gamba Grass (Andropogon gayanus) 2018 and is a statutory plan under the Weeds Management Act (the Act). These plans establish the legal requirements and management actions to be undertaken by all owners and occupiers of land on which the declared weed is present in the Northern Territory. The aim of this plan is to mitigate the damage caused by gamba grass in relation to the natural environment, property, infrastructure and public health and safety by defining the minimum management requirements applying to all owners and occupiers of land in the Northern Territory.,
Notes
The first statutory plan for gamba grass was gazetted on 21July 2010 for a period of ten years. In 2014 the plan was reviewed in accordance with the Act. It was amended following the review and gazetted on 9 April 2014. The 2018 plan is the result of a final review of the original and 2014 amended plan. This Plan will commence on the date it is gazetted, that is 8 August 2018; and will remain in force until it is revoked.,
