81 10 HEALTH-RELATED TRENDS ASSOCIATED WITH DRUG USE 10.1 Overdose and drug-related fatalities 10.1.1 Heroin Twenty-five percent of this years participants sample had overdosed on heroin at least once in their lives (range 1 to 17), one within one year of interview and none within one month. The person who had overdosed within one year had not received any treatment for that overdoase. 10.1.2 Other drugs Twenty-three respondents (23% percent of the sample) had overdosed on another drug on a median of one occasion (range of one to three times) within a median of 30 months of interview (range of 1 months to 314 months). Nine respondents (39% of those who had ever overdosed on another drug) had overdosed within the 12 months prior to interview. Five percent (Table 56) of the sample reported overdosing on benzodiazepines or morphine. Two respondents had attended a hospital emergency department because of their overdose and one had attended a hospital metal health ward.
