Parap and R.A.A.F. Area from Water Tower. This image was taken from the roof of the Goyder Road tank during a re-roofing job. Possibly the first since construction in 1939. The elevated tank in the distance is the Parap tank at the junction of Parap Road. The area to the right is the North Australia Railway yards. A new silver tank can be seen at centre right in the image. This was the diesel fuel tank for the new diesel-electric locomotives that had just replaced steam on the railway. A little further to the right is the rusty elevated water tank that supplied steam locomotives from 1888 to 1954.,
