Mataranka Homestead. The homestead building was constructed circa 1915 as the homestead for the experimental sheep and agricultural station established by Dr. John Gilruth. The nearby thermal springs were used by troops as a recreation area during World War II and later a tourist resort was established around the attraction. The homestead houses a bar and kiosk, offices, and accommodation.,
