During 1982 a groundwater investigation was undertaken at Borroloola resulting in the construction of three test production bores capable of producing 10 L/s (864 m3/day).
Based on present pumping data this supply will meet present peak water demands and increased demand, over the next five years to 1988 when the situation should be reviewed. To meet the projected long term demand of 23 L/s (2000 m3 / day) will require further production bores located approximately 2.5 km south-west of Borroloola.,
