The Aero Avian aircraft G-EBTW 'Red Rose' flown to Australia by Bill Lancaster, an ex-Australian Light Horse and RFC officer, and Jessie Maude 'Chubby' Miller in 1928. Miller was the first woman to be carried in flight from England to Australia. The pair arrived at Darwin on 19 March after an eventful flight including mechanical problems, sandstorms and a cholera scare which forced their quarantine in Shaibah in the Middle East. On arrival at Darwin the RGD ROSG was overhauled prior to continuing on to Sydney. Photo shows Miller to the right of the male in white suit and hat whilst Lancaster is standing by the propeller.
