History
On the 22 January 1942, Pecos collided with HMAS Katoomba outside Darwin ripping a large hole in Katoomba's side. Pecos was in Darwin briefly to reload with fuel. She was sunk 1 March 1942 south of Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean during a Japanese air attack.,
