History

The Group assumed control of Batchelor Airfield on 15 July 1942 but retained it only until 17 August. On 15 July control of Pell airfield site was assigned to the Group who set up a camp on the western side of the North-South road. The 46 Air Base Group arrived at Fenton with a Quartermaster Unit and a Signals detachment on 2 August. On 6 July 1945 the Unit departed from Darwin.,
