Abstract
Countries in the region have generally been able to maintain macroeconomic stability and this should continue. Inflation rates have been held in check and governments have maintained fiscal responsibility by restraining the level of government deficits. Combined with a progressive policy environment this has served to stimulate savings and investment, which have grown dramatically over the past two decades.,
