Made available via the Publications (Legal Deposit) Act 2004 (NT), In the Ayers Rock region there are two borefileds monitored by the Department for groundwater management purposes. The Dune Plains borefiled suppliesthe township pf Yulara. The Ayers Rock borefiled supplies the Uluru National Park and the Mutijulu Aboriginal community. A number of groundwater bores from both borefield have a monitoring history dating back to 1968 whilst others have come on line since the mid 1970. Water levels are currently monitored on a six month basis, involving 11 bores in the Ayers Rock borefileds and 35 in the Dune Plains area.,
