L R Rajaratnam was a public servant who was in the employ of the NT govt from 1989 to 2017. At the time of his retirement he was the Manager, Surface Water Assessment Section, Water Resources Branch, Department of Natural Resources, Environment, The Arts and Sports (this department has undergone numerous name changes over the years). During his employment he produced many reports relating to surface water matters affecting the NT. A number of reports written by him are in the NT archives. He passed away in November 2023. This is a short biography of his life and his contribution to the NT. It is a story of a migrant successfully integrating into Australia, in this case NT and contributing throughout his working life at a national, state and local level.,
