Abstract
Anningie excision (Yanginj Aboriginal community) is located near the Anningie Station Homestead some 240 kilometres north west of Alice Springs (Figure 1). The excision title was granted following negotiations in 1981; at this time a
water resource assessment recommended against the current excision area. In 1983, two spear points equipped with hand pumps were emplaced in the bed of the adjacent Anningie Creek (Figure 2). These spear points (RN 13766 and 13767) are capable of supplying low yields of potable water. Due to the low yield and potentially unreliable nature of the supply, several investigations have previously been undertaken in an attempt to augment the existing supply. This report summarises previous investigations and details the 1990-1991 work. The 1990-1991 work did not identify either a more extensive potable source, or any non-potable supplementary source within the excision area.,
