|Description:||One of the Royal Air Force's Far East Flight Supermarine Southampton flying boats serial S1149 during the visit to Australia by four of the type during the period June-August 1928. The flying boats travelled to Australia prior to taking up residence at Singapore, arriving in Broome on June 1 and circumnavigating Australia. They reached Darwin on 30 August after having spent some time with No101 Flight RAAF at Bowen in Qld. The flying boats then remained at Darwin for rest and maintenance for two days before flying out for Singapore on 1 September 1928. Photo taken in early morning.|
