|Description:||Jim Mollison in helmet and goggles with ground engineer Gordon Cowper on his left wearing glasses and Darwin residents, prior to the take off attempt. Jim Mollison intended to fly to England but crashed on take-off at 12.20am on 7 June 1931. The aircraft (DH60G VH-UFT) was overloaded with 143 gallons of fuel. Morrison escaped injury.|
