Service History: Embarked from Brisbane on HMAT A49 'Seang Choon' on 19 September 1916. Powell joined the 15th Battalion on 13 June 1917. He was hospitalised on 15 June 1917 with an eye condition, after which he was transferred to the 47th battalion. Killed in action 12 August 1917, Belgium, buried Derry House Cemetery, No 2, 3/4 mile north Messines.
