Printed at lower centre "Gide Editeur. PÊCHEURS DE TRIPANG A LA BAIE RAFFLES." Printed at lower right "Lith. de Thierry frères, Paris." Blind stamp at lower centre "GIDE Editeur Paris". Dumont D'Urville visited Raffles Bay between 27 March and 6 April 1839. D'Urville made contact with the Macassar trepanging fleet and visited their encampment. Louis Le Breton was a marine artist and was the official artist on the voyage of exploration under the command of Dumont D'Urville.
