The Soldiers Memorial when us stood in front of Government House on the spot where the Overland Telegraph Memorial now stands. Later moved to Gardens between the back of Browns Mart and the Darwin City Council. Then to the oval on the Esplanade opposite Hotel Darwin. The top of the memorial as shown was made interstate and the base was made by Mr William Drysdale, assisted by Alex Crerar.,
