Biographical notes
Joined the staff of the Office of the Railway Superintendant (Darwin) as an Accountant in 1912 and was later employed by the Celebes Trading Co in Broome. Travelled to Perth to enlist on 15 September 1915. Family military connections include the following: 4805 Pte Herbert Fuhrmann (uncle), 16th Battalion, killed in action, 8 August 1917; 1759 Pte Victor Fuhrmann (uncle), 11th Battalion, returned to Australia, 20 January 1916; 2996 Pte Guido Nelson Fuhrmann (brother), 8th Light Horse Regiment, returned to Australia, 3 July 1919.,
History
Embarked from Fremantle on RMS 'Mongolia' 22 November 1915 with the 10th Light Horse Regiment. Fuhrmann served in Egypt moving through the ranks to become Sergeant on 27 April 1917. He died from pneumonia in Palestine on 13 August 1918.,
