This project is the first dolphin research to be undertaken in the Northern Territory and began in March 2007. Since then there have been monthly boat trips to the mouths of the Alligator Rivers undertaking systematic surveys and / or opportunistic sightings of two rare coastal dolphins: the Australian Snubfin Orcaella heinsohni and Indo-Pacific Humpback Sousa chinensis.,
