Biographical notes

Pat is married to Ted Davies, they have two chilcred a son and daughter. The family moved to Katherine in 1974 from South Australia where Pat was a primary school teacher. In 1975, she joined the regional council and became its director from 1977 to 1981. In this capacity she instigated the Katherine night shelter, Katherine crèche, the Senior Citizen's and Pensioner's Association. Pat served 10 years at Katherine as the town's Mayor and is credited with starting the council as part of the Territory's self-government push in 1978. From 1979 to 1983 she was a member of the Northern Territory Advisory Committee on Community Service Orders (correctional services). From 1980 to 1985 she was a member of the Northern Bicentennial Authority Committee and the Northern Territory Committee on Discrimination in Employment and Occupation, for which she was chairperson. Moving to Darwin in 1990, Pat was Alderman on the Darwin City Council representing the Lyons Ward.,
