Biographical notes
Nora met and married Michael John Feely at Saint Francis's Church Adelaide on the 29 December 1944. Michael joined the Commonwealth Department of Works in Darwin in 1946 due to accommodation shortage she could not join him until 1947 taking up work as an accounting machinist also for the Department of Works. She lived at Mareenah House a hostel for women run by the Department and after six months was invited to manage Mareenah House which accommodated over 40 females as well as the Town Mess which had mixed accommodation. Molly acted Matron for five years at Mareenah House. In 1952 the Feeley's brought land and built their house in Barossa Street, Larrakeyah. She returned to Department of Works after receiving additional training on Remington machines and was appointed Accounting Machinist in Charge in 1966 and retained the position until she retired on the 20 September 1972. For many years Nora was the Treasurer of the Pensioners' Association and this coincided with the building of Tracy Lodge.
Cyclone Tracy demolished her home and the land had been transferred to the Northern Territory Pensioners' Association at the minimum price the government would allow it to pay. She received the British Empire Medal (BEM) for public service in 1971. As a devoted Roman Catholic she worked tirelessly for the Saint Vincent De Paul Society and served on the committee.,
