Biographical notes

Estelle and her husband Peter started their garden business after purchasing a property on the main highway to Darwin in 1995. It was originally a nursery all that was left was a shed and very basic infrastructure while they were cleaning up the property for other plans they were stopped by members of the public asking when will the nursery reopen. Not having a horticultural background Estelle started the potting-shed working day and night to start her new business opportunity with motivation and an extraordinary work ethic. In 1996 she opened up the Allora Gardens Nursery at Berrimah with a wide range of plants, pots, water features, gifts, garden ornaments, gardening and landscaping products and the nursery produces 70% of the plants it sells some brought from local and interstate businesses. Estelle employees have horticultural qualifications and good quality gardening information and advice. Estelle and Peter have talented children their son Matthew has a dancing career and daughter Tiffany dancing and singing career. Estelle volunteers her garden plants for display, for example the Northern Territory Ballroom Competions and lets the communities use her Nursery for fund raising.,
