Biographical notes
Oswald James Quinn was the second of four children born in 1880 to Emily Ann (nee Crowley) and James Quinn in New South Wales. He had two sisters also born at Walgett; Mary Ann in 1882 and Linda Emily in 1883 and his elder sister, Eleanor Johnston was born in Richmond in 1878. The Queensland Gazette of 1908 and 1909 listed Oswald as the Manager of Auburn Station via Chinchilla Queensland. He was reallocated the cancelled 2QO brand in 1905 and is listed at Auburn Station in 1903 on the Queensland electoral roll. An article in the Northern Territory Times and Gazette of 4 January 1921 describes Oswald as the Manager of Wave Hill Station. The register of Northern Territory deaths confirms his death at Wave Hill Station on 3 December 1920.
The Lone Graves of the Northern Territory of Australia from June 1839 to July 1976 lists Mr Quinn’s burial at Wave Hill Station on 19 December 1920.
A probate notice three years later listed him as the Manager of Ord River Station at the time of his death.,

Quinn's unit embarked from Sydney on board HMAT A60 'Aeneas' on 30 September 1916. Returned to Australia per HMT Orca 9 February 1919 and discharged medically unfit on 18 May 1919.,
