Doctor (Joseph) Lionel O’Connor was transferred in the Commonwealth Health Department’s quarantine branch to Darwin near the end of 1940. He took with him his wife, Beryl, and their two children, Michael (that’s me) aged almost three and Anne just one year old.
The family lived in a house at the intersection of what are now Smith Street, Lambell Terrace, Kahlin Avenue and Gilruth Avenue.,
