A member of the Australian Labor Party until 4 August 2009, Alison Anderson was elected as the representative for Macdonnell in the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly in 2005. She was re-elected in 2008, but resigned from the Labour Party to sit as an Independent in the Assembly in 2009. Alison was a former ATSIC Commissioner and is also well-known as a talented artist.,
