Contains ideas and practical tips on how to establish and maintain safe management practices for small water systems, and shows how to set up a small settlement water plan. Based on risk management, which involves identifying and controlling possible risks: Understanding the needs of the settlement and its water supply system; Identifying hazards, hazardous events and their sources; Estimating the level of risk for each hazard and prioritising them; Planning preventive measures for each hazard; and, Implementing these measures and monitoring how well they work, the Handbook is based on the principles of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.,
