Miss Jean Batten's de Havilland DH60 M Moth G-AARB at Darwin. Batten, a New Zealander, had just completed the fastest solo flight from Britain to Australia, having cut Amy Johnson's previous record by some four days, whilst also cutting Bert Hinkler's time, taking just under 15 days to complete the flight. She was supported in her attempt by Lord Wakefield, hence the large "Castrol" and Wakefield Oils logo on the forward fuselage.,
