The Combined Aboriginal Schools Choir at the NT Eisteddfod, conductor Ted Milliken.
Ted had a couple of practices with the combined choir when the schools came in. They performed on the opening night of the Eisteddfod, during the evening on 1 July 1967, after the opening by the Administrator R.L.Dean.
The combined choirs sang the Welsh National Anthem, (Eisteddfods began in Wales in 1500’s), and I love a Sunburnt Country (Dorothy Mackellar’s poem). Information supplied by Cecil Neilson who with another teacher attended with the Milingimbi Mission School Choir - all girl, and I was the Conductor for two sections we had entered. We ended up being the Champion Choir of the Eisteddfod!,
