Description

Retrieving the crashed VH-UNI DH60 De Havilland Gypsy Moth, purchased for 500 pounds and flown by Dr Clyde Fenton. The plane crashed 10.5 km from VRD. Moved in 1994 to Katherine Historical museum. Photo possibly taken by either Bill Eacott or Betty Eacott.,

Notes

The plane was donated to the Katherine Museum by Cliff Wright. It was picked up from Wynwood Station at Mt. Hope, New South Wales by a RAAF Hercules. Cliff had the plane in a state that it would fly to approx 1-2 m from the ground. I have a personalized certificate that he had made up to say that I have flown in this aircraft. This would have been around 1992. Additional information supplied by Phil Allen, 20-04-2014.,
