Twelve for Patta Ward Councillors and six for Barkly President. There are many new fac es; some already known to us, as they arc serving in the c urrent BRC; others arc newcomers to this level of Government, seeking to apply their knowledge, experience and energy. The aspir ants to the Presidency o f the BRC must have the interests of all people residing in this Council region, no t j ust certain communities or local interest groups . as has happened before. The President of o ur Counci l must be aware that in this day and age, the demands of thei r commitment are e no rmous and this position cannot be treated as a 'part time' job, as it requires many advanced skills including highly developed skills in human resource management. As fo r the future Councillors fo r the Patta Ward, they must also be aware of the needs and aspirations of the Township of Tennant Creek. I am and have been a member of the BRC's Local Authority fo r Tennant Crcek.even from before it was made a Local Authority but have often been disappointed in the spurious a rguments. persuas ions and sometimes the blatant and self-serving egotism displayed. I am interested in serving with persons of integrity who have a genuine interest in our community as a whole. I have know n and worked as a LA member wi th Narelle Bremner and Sid Vashist and found both to be genuinely imerested in the welfare of the whole community including, and with a particular focus on , improving and mainta ining the Tennant Creek Cemetery. This Iauer is a very important part of our community and certainly deserves a much greater effort in mainta ining respect for our departed family and friends. In addit ion. Narelle already has an impressive Our town needs huge effo rt in improving the facil it ies ~tvailable . Hal Ruger. as a Councillor has been working doggedly for years to establish improvements among w hich is a town clock opposite the Food Barn , and I believe this project is on the 'home straight' , and all at no o r litt le cost to the BRC. There are many other worthwhile candidates in this e lection. It is up to you and I , to determine which candidate/s have, first and foremost. this town andregion's interests at heart as well as the abilities needed for this very important service to our community. Lastly, I would like to extend my personal thanks to all those who have put the ir hands up to serve their community. I wish all of you the very best of luck in your future effons. - L.
