The Department of Housing and Community Development has released requests for proposals from the construction and property development sector to increase its stock of social housing. The five year plan will increase the availability of social housing for low income earners, seniors and people living with a disability. Longterm leases of six years will be offered to developers or property owners. The Department will then sublet to tenants w ho qualify for social housing.
