Lots of love from Dad, Mum, Cilla, Brother Javon, Jnr Gavin and your baby sister Gavina. oxoxox Locals get to meet NBA stars STAR STRUCK: Above: San Antonio Spurs players Patrick Mills (left) and Aron Baynes (right) with Darius and Bronson Plummer. Below: Yvette Plummer with the NBA stars. ITS not everyday you get to meet international idols but a few Tennant locals, now living in the big smoke, got lucky recently. Darius, Yvette and Bronson Plummer were in Melbourne to congratulate Indigenous basketballer, Patrick Mills, on his role in helping the San Antonio Spurs win the coveted NBA Championships last month. Mills San Antonio team mate, Aron Baynes, was also in Australia to show off the prized Larry OBrien trophy. Yvette said she was incredibly excited to meet the players and to see the golden trophy up close. I couldnt believe my eyes, it was beautiful, she said. It is the fi rst time in NBA history that the trophy has been outside the US. Yvette said she was really pleased to meet Mills who she lined for over an hour and a half to see. It was such an amazing feeling and a once-ina-lifetime chance, she said. It was an unforgettable moment. Patty Mills is a great Indigenous role model and an inspiration to people from all over Australia. Especially in Tennant Creek.
