Description
Kingsford Smith handing over first experimental, England to Australia airmail, to Hurtle Bald. The mail was retrieved from Koepang NEI after Imperial airways DH66 Hercules G-EBMW "City of Cairns" crashed there on 14 April. Kingsford Smith flew Fokker F.VIIB/3m VH-USU "Southern Cross" Australian National Aisways. Bald was killed in the first Japanese air raid attack on Darwin on 19 February 1942.,
