CBCA-NT was invited to man a table at the Childrens Week Celebrations at the Humpty Doo Village Green on Thursday 25th October. Despite the heat and humidity, it was a very successful morning catering for children and their families from throughout the district and beyond. Many preschools, schools and day care providers attended and participated in the numerous activities provided. CBCA-NT displayed the shortlisted books and provided a shady and comfortable spot to escape the heat and enjoy some stories. Quite a few people took advantage of this. It was a great opportunity to increase our public profile and showcase this years best books. Jacqueline Harvey is one of Australias most popular authors, having sold over a million copies of her Alice-Miranda and Clementine Rose series in Australia and New Zealand. Jacqueline was in Darwin recently to promote her latest series Kensy and Max. Whilst here, she visited schools and libraries and spoke to an enthusiastic audience at The Bookshop.
