SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 22 2018 NEWS 13 V1 - NTNE01Z01MA woman reiterated to Borg that their four-year relationship was over. The court heard he crashed into a parked car at speed trying to leave the apartment complex in his unregistered and uninsured ute. Borg was also unlicensed. Crown Prosecutor Hamish Riley said that Borgs offending should be classed as a type of domestic violence and that Borg had persisted in his efforts to break in to the apartment. Mr Riley said the victim had in effect, forgiven him despite being angry and sad at the time. Borgs barrister, Peter Bellach, said his clients reaction to the relationship breakdown was clearly inappropriate and criminal. He said Borg went ahead with his unsophisticated offending kamikaze style, after his first attempt to break in through the front door had failed. I suppose it is a pretty classic example of heightened emotions and someone acting on those emotions rather than just feeling them, Mr Bellach said. He said Borg was angry at being dumped because he drank to much and that he had since cut back on his drinking. Justice Stephen Southwood is expected to sentence Borg next month and flagged a likely court order for him to see an alcohol counsellor. THE Territory now has its own National Disability Insurance Scheme manager, with the appointment of Chantelle Ayres to the role. Previously, responsibility for Territory operations was handled from South Australia. Ms Ayres and rural and remote branch manager Lizzie Gilliam will lead 60 staff who will work from the schemes new Darwin office. The space, located on Harry Chan Ave, was officially opened by NDIS chairwoman Helen Nugent yesterday. Anthony Borg pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court yesterday to a string of property and driving offences after last year breaking in to his exgirlfriends Coolalinga apartment, where he smashed her TV and threw the contents of her fridge on the floor. Borg had tried unsuccessfully to break into his former partners first-floor apartment using a hammer and a chisel before he parked his ute below the balcony, jumped on to its roof, climbed the railing and smashed his way through a glass sliding door. The break-in followed a nasty confrontation at the womans workplace, where the CRAIG DUNLOP NDIS chair Helen Nugent, Minister for Health Natasha Fyles and NDIS Darwin Advisory Group's Liz Reid and Robyn Burridge at the opening of the new NDIS office in Darwin yesterday sites in Darwin and has outgrown both offices, Dr Nugent said.
