76 SPORT SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 22 2018 NTNE01Z01MA - V1 Hellenic aims for perfect season PEDRO Stefanidakis says a perfect season will be complete if Hellenic wins the FFNT mens premier league grand final. The Blues will have achieved more than any Territory side has ever before in a single season if they beat the Rowdies at Darwin Football Stadium. The Greek club has gone through the entire local season undefeated, while their 4-3 loss to Western Sydney Wanderers in the FFA Cup made national headlines. There is still the matter of winning tonights decider, though. It has been a big season for us, so this would be the icing on the cake, coach Stefanidakis told the NT News. No words can explain it, being our 60th year and the way weve gone about it, the result with the Wanderers and the fact we have all five senior teams playing in grand finals, its such a big achievement. But at the end of the day, the boys have to go out and do it (tonight). We are as confident as we can get. Weve shown we can do it; we are just waiting for the boys to make that step. If the boys really want it, its there for them to take. Last year, the Blues entered the decider having lost only one league match, but were beaten by Olympic 3-2 in extra time. Stefanidakis said that result still hurt his side, but a win tonight would erase any disappointment still lingering. It definitely is (extra motivation), Stefanidakis said of the 2017 grand final. Even though youve had a successful season, to lose one at the end is hard, anyone can tell you that. It was a similar story last year up until this point. Obviously we didnt win the FFA Cup, which we gained this year, but if we got one tonight, it would be a perfect season. A victory wont be an easy task however, against a Rowdies outfit which poses a big threat in the final third. Casuarina has a very good passing game and very good composure on the ball, Stefanidakis said. We have come up with a different game plan against them, to really press them. Hopefully they will cough the ball up and let us play our game.
