MacDonnell Regional Council Staff Newsletter SEPTEMBER 2018 volume 10 issue 4 page 10 ABOVE: Titjikala Civil Works Leader Douglas Wells shows off his 10 Year Service Award BELOW: residents enjoy one of thirteen 10th birthday barbeque celebrations across our communities 10 Years of Service recognised 20 MacDonnell Regional Council staff received 10 Year Service Award medals at birthday barbeque celebrations in all or communities recently. The barbeques were held as part of NAIDOC Week celebrations and council services across our 13 communities were closed for the afternoon. Residents and staff of MacDonnell Regional Council took the opportunity to celebrate ten years of local government together. Locals in each community came together for the celebrations as Council staff fired up barbeques. Councillors and executive staff made speeches acknowledging the changes seen in their communities before presenting medals to the long serving staff members on each community. The 10 Year Service Award medals recognise the long term contributions of our foundation staff. MacDonnell Council will continue to present these medals to other staff over the coming years, to recognise their 10 year anniversaries. The medals where presented along with a certificate and a letter from the CEO. Once medals were presented residents gave recipients a generous applause, showing their appreciation of each staff members contributions to their community.
