This publication tells of the life and Edwin Tamblyn, a young Cornish miner who spent 35 years working in the Northern Territory first as a miner employed for wages then as a prospector and small claim holder, and finally, after a brief period as underground foreman, as a mine manager for English companies. The writings give a picture of mining development over the period, the frustrations and problems of the men on the mines and the eventual collapse of the companies and the stagnation that followed. His writings records his personal successes and failures and refers to social events in Brocks Creek or Pine Creek.,
